Ingredients:
- 21 oz apple pie filling
- 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
- 1 box yellow or white cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup caramel bits
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly coat a 9x13-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
- Spread the apple pie filling evenly across the bottom of the pan using a spatula to smooth it into a flat layer.
- Drizzle the salted caramel sauce in a zig-zag motion across the apples, leaving the sauce in distinct ribbons without stirring.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the top of the caramel and apples until the fruit is completely covered.
- Carefully pour the melted unsalted butter over the dry cake mix, focusing on the edges and center, without stirring the mix into the apples.
- Scatter the caramel bits across the top of the cake mix.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes until the top is deep golden brown and the fruit juices bubble around the edges.
- Remove from the oven and let the cake rest for 10 minutes to allow the caramel to set.
