Ingredients:

  • 21 oz apple pie filling
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 1 box yellow or white cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup caramel bits

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly coat a 9x13-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
  2. Spread the apple pie filling evenly across the bottom of the pan using a spatula to smooth it into a flat layer.
  3. Drizzle the salted caramel sauce in a zig-zag motion across the apples, leaving the sauce in distinct ribbons without stirring.
  4. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the top of the caramel and apples until the fruit is completely covered.
  5. Carefully pour the melted unsalted butter over the dry cake mix, focusing on the edges and center, without stirring the mix into the apples.
  6. Scatter the caramel bits across the top of the cake mix.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes until the top is deep golden brown and the fruit juices bubble around the edges.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the cake rest for 10 minutes to allow the caramel to set.
