Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) Dr Pepper
  • 1/3 cup (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp (1.2g) salt
  • 1/4 tsp (1.2g) baking powder
  • 3/4 cup (130g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until combined.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla, beating vigorously until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
  4. Slowly stir in the Dr Pepper until incorporated.
  5. Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder; fold into the wet ingredients using a spatula until no streaks of flour remain.
  6. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared pan, spread evenly, and bake for 30 to 35 minutes until edges pull away from the sides and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
