Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (120ml) Dr Pepper
- 1/3 cup (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp (1.2g) salt
- 1/4 tsp (1.2g) baking powder
- 3/4 cup (130g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until combined.
- Add the eggs and vanilla, beating vigorously until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
- Slowly stir in the Dr Pepper until incorporated.
- Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder; fold into the wet ingredients using a spatula until no streaks of flour remain.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan, spread evenly, and bake for 30 to 35 minutes until edges pull away from the sides and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
