Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (120ml) Dr Pepper soda
- 1/3 cup (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
- 1/2 cup (85g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup (125g) powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp (30ml) Dr Pepper soda
- 1 tbsp (15g) melted butter
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until the mixture is glossy.
- Stir in the 1/2 cup of Dr Pepper soda.
- Sift in the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, and salt. Stir just until no streaks of flour remain, being careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes, until the edges are set and the center has a slight jiggle.
- While brownies cool in the pan, whisk together powdered sugar, 2 tbsp Dr Pepper, and 1 tbsp melted butter until smooth.
- Pour the glaze over the warm brownies and spread evenly. Let cool completely before lifting from the pan and slicing into 16 squares.
