Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs (100g), room temperature
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (120ml) Dr Pepper soda, room temperature
- 1/3 cup (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
- 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
- 1/4 tsp (1g) baking powder
- 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp (30ml) Dr Pepper soda
- 1 tbsp (14g) melted butter
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
- Stir the melted butter and granulated sugar together in a large mixing bowl until combined.
- Whisk in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Slowly pour in the Dr Pepper soda and whisk gently until incorporated.
- Gradually fold in the dry ingredients using a spatula, stirring only until no streaks of flour remain.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes.
- Allow brownies to cool completely in the pan for at least 30 minutes before removing and slicing.
