Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs (100g), room temperature
  • 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) Dr Pepper soda, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
  • 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
  • 1/4 tsp (1g) baking powder
  • 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) Dr Pepper soda
  • 1 tbsp (14g) melted butter

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  3. Stir the melted butter and granulated sugar together in a large mixing bowl until combined.
  4. Whisk in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Slowly pour in the Dr Pepper soda and whisk gently until incorporated.
  6. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients using a spatula, stirring only until no streaks of flour remain.
  7. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  8. Bake for 30–35 minutes.
  9. Allow brownies to cool completely in the pan for at least 30 minutes before removing and slicing.
