Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs (approx. 100g)
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
- 1/2 cup (120ml) Dr Pepper soda, room temperature
- 1/2 cup (85g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk the melted butter and granulated sugar together until combined.
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until the mixture looks silky.
- Sift in the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, and salt, stirring gently with a spatula.
- Slowly pour in the room temperature Dr Pepper soda. Stir just until the streaks of flour disappear; do not overmix.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips using a few broad strokes.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with your spatula.
- Bake for 30–32 minutes until the edges are set and the center remains slightly soft.
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before lifting them out using the parchment paper.
