Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs (100g)
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
- 1/4 cup (60ml) Dr Pepper soda
- 3/4 cup (130g) semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
- Whisk the melted butter and granulated sugar together in a large bowl until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract until the mixture looks glossy.
- Sift in the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, and salt. Stir gently until just combined; do not overmix.
- Slowly pour in the Dr Pepper soda and stir until the batter is well-blended and resembles a thick, dark chocolate syrup.
- Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until a thin crust forms on top and edges slightly pull away from the pan, but the center remains slightly wobbly.
- Let the pan cool completely in the tray for at least 30 minutes before slicing to allow the fudge structure to set.
