Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs (100g)
  • 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) Dr Pepper soda
  • 3/4 cup (130g) semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
  2. Whisk the melted butter and granulated sugar together in a large bowl until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract until the mixture looks glossy.
  4. Sift in the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, and salt. Stir gently until just combined; do not overmix.
  5. Slowly pour in the Dr Pepper soda and stir until the batter is well-blended and resembles a thick, dark chocolate syrup.
  6. Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  8. Bake for 30–35 minutes until a thin crust forms on top and edges slightly pull away from the pan, but the center remains slightly wobbly.
  9. Let the pan cool completely in the tray for at least 30 minutes before slicing to allow the fudge structure to set.
