Ingredients:

  • 4 medium Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples, peeled and cored
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup apple cider

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples into quarters.
  3. Lightly toss the apple wedges with 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
  4. Unroll the crescent roll dough and place one apple wedge on the shortest side of each dough triangle.
  5. Roll the dough tightly around the apple, ensuring the seams are tucked underneath to prevent the dumpling from unfolding.
  6. Arrange the dumplings in a 9x9 inch square baking dish, leaving about an inch of space between each.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon.
  8. Pour the glaze mixture evenly over the dumplings and into the spaces between them.
  9. Carefully pour the apple cider around the sides of the dumplings, avoiding the top of the crust.
  10. Bake for 30–40 minutes until the crust is a deep golden brown and the glaze is bubbling and thickened into a syrupy consistency.
