Ingredients:

  • 5 cups (750g) fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp (8g) ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp (8g) cornstarch
  • 1 box (432g) yellow cake mix
  • 3/4 cup (170g) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sliced peaches with sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and cornstarch until the peaches are evenly coated.
  3. Pour the peach mixture into a 9x13-inch baking dish, spreading them into a flat, even layer.
  4. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the peaches. Do not stir or press the mix into the fruit.
  5. Drizzle the melted butter across the top of the cake mix, covering as many dry spots as possible. You may use a fork to gently push butter into any remaining flour pockets without mixing the layers.
  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes until the edges are bubbling and the top is a mahogany-colored, golden-brown hue.
