Ingredients:

  • 2 pieces (approx. 6 oz / 170g each) store-bought flatbread or naan
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) marinara or pizza sauce
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 clove (5g) garlic, minced
  • 8 oz (225g) fresh mozzarella pearls or sliced fresh mozzarella
  • 1/4 cup (10g) fresh basil leaves, torn
  • 1/4 cup (15g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) balsamic glaze
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (218°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil and minced garlic. Brush the garlic oil evenly across the top of each flatbread.
  3. Spread 2 to 3 tablespoons of sauce over each flatbread, leaving a 1/2-inch border around the edges.
  4. Evenly distribute the fresh mozzarella slices or pearls across the sauce and sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the top.
  5. Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and the edges of the flatbread are golden brown.
  6. Remove from the oven and immediately top with torn fresh basil and a drizzle of balsamic glaze.
