Ingredients:

  • 1 box (18 oz / 510g) brownie mix
  • 12 oz (355ml) soda pop
  • 1/2 cup (85g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup (30g) crushed walnuts

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
  2. Pour the dry brownie mix into a large mixing bowl.
  3. Slowly pour in the 12 oz (355ml) of soda pop. Stir with a spatula until the powder is fully incorporated and no dry clumps remain; avoid over-mixing to maintain a fudgy texture.
  4. Fold in the optional semi-sweet chocolate chips and crushed walnuts if using.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the edges are set and pulling away from the sides, but the center still has a slight, soft jiggle.
  7. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan for at least 30 minutes to set the structure before cutting.
